Hybrid position 3 days a week in office Foothill Ranch, CA
Position Summary:  
As our Junior Counsel, Litigation, you’ll carry out complex legal assignments requiring substantive legal knowledge in diverse practice areas. With supervision from our Managing Counsel, Litigation, you’ll provide a broad range of legal analysis, services, support, and counsel, primarily in the areas of transactional matters, along with other general corporate and compliance matters
   
Job Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • Analyze complex legal and factual issues, conduct extensive legal research; independently develop, recommend, and present defense strategies on behalf of Freedom Forever  
  • Correspond with other parties' attorney to discuss cases and negotiate for the dismissal or resolution of cases at all stages in the litigation process  
  • Review, prepare and negotiate leases, settlement agreements, third-party contracts, and other commercial documents  
  • Respond to Complaints, Discovery Requests, and file other Motions with the Court, as needed  
  • Create and maintain contract database and monitor contract renewals  
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings  
  • Perform other duties as assigned     
Desired Qualifications:  
  • JD Degree from ABA accredited law school  
  • A member in good standing of the State Bar of California  
  • 1-3 years of general legal experience; multi-state regulatory licensing, contractor’s licensing and compliance experience is preferred  
  • Real property, corporate and employment law is a plus  
  • Must be adaptable and responsive working in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills  
  • Ability to communicate professionally with a diverse range of company personnel  
  • Can meet deadlines and perform multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail  
  • Must have a valid driver’s license/insurance and the ability to drive a personal vehicle to attend hearings and other legal matters as needed  
  • Bilingual Spanish and English is a plus 
Physical Demands and Abilities:  
  • Regularly use office equipment and computers for extended periods of time
  • Comfortable reviewing and entering information into a computer for extended periods of time
  • Able to move from sitting to standing positions, bend, twist, and use hands and fingers
  • See details of objects that are less than a few feet away
  • Can speak clearly so listeners can understand, and listen to understand another person
  • Occasionally lift 5-10 pounds
