POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Director of Fleet, you will be responsible for the growth, maintenance and management of the Freedom Forever vehicle fleet. The Director of Fleet will develop and maintain fleet vendor and service provider relationships to ensure the organizations fleet needs are routinely met. The Director of Fleet will work closely with the executive team to forecast, provide financial analysis and ensure results are met.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead negotiations, relationship management and development with various types of fleet vendors
Responsible for cost forecasting and in turn spend of fleet operations including leases, purchases, rentals, maintenance, fuel, insurances, vehicle transportation, outfitting and other costs associated with the fleet
Analyze financial reports and data to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance overall fleet performance
Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and compliance with service level agreements
Work with the executive team to ensure their needs and expectations regarding budget, approach, results, and timing are met
Stay current with all transportation regulations and industry standards, ensuring that the company remains in compliance
Develop and maintain relationships with relevant regulatory agencies and bodies
Develop and implement cost-effective fleet management strategies, including maintenance schedules, fuel efficiency, and replacement schedules.
Direct, maintain, and control purchasing
Evaluate vendor performance regularly, addressing any issues or discrepancies to maintain high service standards
Provide guidance and support to various leaders and location management throughout the organization.
Implement and/or oversee technology solutions for fleet tracking, monitoring, and performance
Collaborate with the fleet team to ensure consistent implementation of fleet management programs and procedures across different regions
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor's or masters degree in business, logistics, supply chain, transportation management, or related field is preferred
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Must have a proactive approach to problem resolution, critical thinking, and problem solving in a dynamic fast paced environment
Must be proficient at multitasking and competent in fleet management
Excellent analytical skills required
Excellent organizational skills required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Excellent customer service skills required
Ability to practice discretion and confidentiality
Must have outstanding follow-through
