Pay Range: $20/hr-$25/hr (DOE) + Benefits
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Junior Planner will be responsible for monitoring, supporting, and executing all task related to the plan set from the Strategic Commodity Planners. This crucial position is also expected to develop a more efficient and effective planning processes to achieve department objectives and goals.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Hold a key role in the Strategic Commodity Planning process in terms of document preparations and data gathering
  • Maintain project status and provide updates
  • Raise order/inquiries with the suppliers, identifying opportunities to negotiate on cost to maximize profit margins
  • Input of supplier details, and product information
  • Support the Manager and Strategic Commodity Planners in the development and implementation of plans
  • Build a comprehensive knowledge of all categories
  • Support material movement between sites to ensure proper inventory levels and reduced impact to operation needs
  • Support current and potential shortages, execute plan, and advise interested parties of status and recovery plan
  • Support in the commodity re-quote plan to ensure best price available
  • Support in the research potential suppliers and compare their products, pricing, and services
  • Utilize the Material Requirement Planning system (MRP) to ensure that the data is accurate and up to date
  • Continuous review of catalog for Part Catalog Standardization
  • Support the transition and phasing out of old products to new and advise interested parties of status and plan
  • Performs duties with minimal direction from management
  • Hold other employees accountable to standard operating procedures as established
  • Deliver updates and reports as required
  • Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance, and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Certifications:
  • High School Graduate or GED
Experience:
  • 1 year experience with planning, purchasing, and forecasting
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • An analytical mind with strong math skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills
  • Reliable and trustworthy
Special Skills & Training:
  • Working knowledge of inventory management software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite, Google Suite

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS (Employee is required to travel for business purposes, not including commute to and from work.)
If required to travel, must have a valid Driver's License/Insurance and the ability to drive a personal vehicle to different sites.
