POSITION SUMMARY:
The Systems Engineer will be responsible for assessing systems, determining problems, providing solutions to issues that arise, designing systems, upgrading systems, maintaining systems and brainstorming possible improvements that can be madeto systems in the future. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for providing 2nd and 3rd level support to staff on all company supported applications. This includes troubleshooting computer problems and determining their source and advising on appropriate actions. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for maintaining Freedom Forevers computer infrastructure and solving any problems that may occur within it.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Leads change initiatives and workgroups in area.
- Overseeing the development and installation of new computing infrastructures.
- Selecting the best possible solutions using knowledge of a wide range of available technologies.
- Monitoring systems in the existing infrastructure to ensure there are no productivity issues.
- Installing and configuring operating systems and application software.
- Implementing best practices for system security and data backups.
- Anticipating potential issues or bottlenecks and identifying possible solutions.
- Troubleshooting and resolving all technical issues when they arise.
- Liaising with vendors and keeping relevant stakeholders up to date with developments.
- Create and update SOPs to better educate end-users and ensure smoother implementation.
- Maintaining existing software and hardware and upgrading any that have become obsolete.
- Working with IT support personnel providing systems administration and 2nd and 3rd level support.
- Fully supporting, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading corporate customers on-premises and cloud-based servers.
- Installing and integrating new hardware and applications.
- Implement and update IT infrastructure and managing update cycles as applicable.
- Support and administer third-party applications.
- Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords.
- Specify system requirements and design solutions.
- Provide EXEMPLARY user support, in person and/or remote, always.
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field experience preferred
- Microsoft certifications a plus, including Microsoft Azure
- Citrix certifications a plus
Experience:
- A minimum of five (5) years experience in a Systems Engineer or Systems Administrator role preferred
- Previous experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2019 preferred
- Previous experience with Citrix VDI technologies preferred
- Working knowledge of Help Desk software, user account management, and remote control
- Strong client-facing and communication skills including effective and professional phone and email skills
- Troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills
- Experience within an IT support function in a fast paced or high-volume environment
- Demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft Office365 Suite, Google Suite
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Previous experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2019 preferred
- Previous experience with Citrix VDI technologies preferred
- Fundamental knowledge of networking concepts
- Proven systems engineering, systems operations, and systems performance analysis skills
- Hands-on technical troubleshooting capabilities
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
- Knowledge of computing infrastructures
- Familiarity with server management and monitoring tools
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Proficiency with scripting languages preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills to assist non-technical individuals with complex technical issues
- Exceptional verbal/written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
